Lamination
In China, the display sector is growing remarkably. Precision laminating technology is essential for producing higher-functional displays, so we established a joint venture, Chatani Opto Electronics Science and Technology (Suzhou) Co. Combining our Electronics Materials Division’s business experience, the LCD backlight technology of our Group company T. Chatani, and many other technologies of partner companies in Japan, we are expanding our business by engaging in lamination for LCDs, organic electro-luminescence displays for TVs, signage, electronic blackboards, in-car displays, etc., as well as film and sheet cutting.

Construction materials for the Vietnamese market
Strong demand is expected to continue in the construction market in the world, particularly in ASEAN countries.
Entry into the growth market is vital for OG’s sustainable progress.
Our Group company T. Chatani & Co., Ltd., UBE Construction Materials Co., Ltd., and Koatsu Gas Kogyo Co., Ltd. established a joint venture, UBE CT Construction Materials Vietnam Co., Ltd. in March 2021. Our new business in the rapidly growing Vietnamese market is based on our materials technology and construction know-how accumulated through five decades of running the Japan Cerinol Waterproofing Association, comprising 130 construction companies. We will steadily expand our Group activities by supporting the waterproofing materials business in Vietnam.
